Draft amendments 132-FZ concerning E-tour system implementation the way it is now were not approved by the Russian State Duma’s Committee for Physical Education, Sports and Tourism. The system will not be introduced from 1st January, 2020. This was announced during a panel discussion on 21st November in the State Duma. According to Dmitry Gorin who attended the discussion, a key thought was expressed at the meeting that no workathon is planned. “The system will be introduced insightfully, step by step. The main thing is that we saw the bias of the dialog vector between the authority and business. While earlier, 90% of the meeting was dedicated to officiary reporting, now the main speech has been held by travel operators and public members, highlighted Mr. Gorin. (More info:)

On the Rain TV channel air Dmitry Gorin discussed with the hostess the tragedy with Russian tourists in the Dominican Republic. The expert gave some useful pieces of advice which can help in emergency. First of all, according to Mr. Gorin, one shouldn’t cut back insurance. In any country of the world, wherever you are, you must definitely write down the telephone number of the consular service of Russia. “By the way, there is a mobile app of the Foreign Office, sort of a mobile assistant. In this situation it’s easy to ask for first aid through the app and receive at least any support. In the Dominicana some tourists lost their passports, and now the Foreign Office is retrieving the documents. It’s crucial to have document copies on oneself, and of course insurance, better in paper. It’s also necessary to provide information about oneself to tour organizers. For example, as a travel company, we sometimes can’t find relatives, or friends, or acquaintance. When booking a ticket, do not forget to specify your contacts either in the travel agency, at the travel operator, or even when booking air tickets. Many of our tourists travel on their own. The maximum of information will help find them quickly and provide the necessary aid, - said he.

Buying a tour from experts – travel operators and travel agencies - will help prevent many problems. “When traveling on one’s own, a person is responsible for all medical and financial risks. This is their private, personal responsibility. Including the lack of insurance, as well. There are some cases when tourists process a medical insurance before their first independent travel and don’t do it next time. But if there are sudden health problems in the trip, the person will have to pay on their own. Organized travelers always have an advantage here – told Dmitry Gorin to the Evening Moscow newspaper. He also recommended checking supplier’s reliability in travel operator register on the website of Federal Agency for Tourism Tourist Aid and highlighted that buying a package tour to most popular beach resorts is more profitable.
